Jaime Quesada Porto , known artistically as James Quessada born in Ourense on July 14 of 1937 and passed away in Vilar de Astrés on December 30 of 2007 [ 1 ] , was a painter, sculptor and writer galician. Is brother of cartoonist Fernando Quesada .
Career

Graduated from the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid . In the fifties attends the group of artists ourensáns nucleated around the Café Volter, called The Artistiñas by Vicente Risco (together with the Virgil , José Luis de Dios , Acisclo Manzano or Buciños ). Get the gold medal in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in 1959 . Moves to live in Paris in 1962 , and later moved to the United States , where he worked in the eighties for UNESCO as an artist on the project Quixote .
In his works are mythological references, figures very naturalistic coridas, and the bodies esvaídos. Are constant motifs and paintings inspired by Goya (as his black series) and more on Picasso , with numerous versions of Guernica and the Minotaur .
Exhibitions and works
His murals and paintings of great size are present in many European galleries such as the National Museum of Modern Art in Mexico , the Galician People Museum , or the Museum of Havana. It also has works as the ceilings of the Main Theater of Ourense , in the Parliament of Galicia and several public sculptures in the city of Ourense .
Also made sceneries and changing rooms for theater assemblies, as well as illustrations for several books.
