He was born in San Miguel de Presqueiras, Forcarei, Pontevedra, on November 24, 1896.
He emigrated to Cuba in 1903, only 16 years old where he worked as a waiter and as a clerk in a clothing store, while attending Drawing and painting in Centro Gallego de La Habana, in which he exhibits for the first time in 1922, in a sample of 25 paintings.

He obtained a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, after finishing these studies, returns to expose in Havana. In 1925 he received another scholarship, this time to continue his studies in Paris, where he contacted the great masters residing in the French capital, among them Joan Miró , Pablo Picasso or Henri Mattisse .

From the impressionists he learned the technique that characterizes his landscapes.
In 1931 he returned to Galicia, exhibiting in Vigo, A Coruña.
He made few exhibitions of his works, exhibited mainly in Vigo and Santiago de Compostela.
